FX Reveals New Information About the 'Alien' TV Series and Teases "Big Surprises"

FX Chairman John Landgraf suggests that Noah Hawley's upcoming Alien series, set on Earth, will have a lot of surprises in store for fans of the proper.

Fargo creator Noah Hawley revealed new facts about FX's highly anticipated Alien TV series.

Before shooting Alien, FX president John Landgraf informed reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour on Thursday that Hawley would film a new season of Fargo, which was just renewed for a fifth season.

"We need to shoot Fargo this winter, therefore we'll shoot Fargo before Alien," Landgraf explained, "but we have more screenplays for Alien than Fargo." "Right now, Noah is writing both."

He also stated that he has gotten one Fargo script and has viewed five Alien scripts.

The main lady from the Alien film, Ellen Ripley, will not feature in the TV series, but don't worry, there's a solid reason for it.

The series is set on Earth, not in the great cold expanse of space, and it takes place decades before the Nostromo first encountered that awful killer egg.

"Alien takes place prior to Ripley's arrival. It's the first Alien film to take place on the planet Earth.

It takes place on our planet near the end of this century - 70 years from now," Landgraf added.

"All I can say is that Ripley will not be in it, and neither will any other characters - with the exception of the alien itself."

The audience will be treated to some major surprises.

"I hope they'll feel that it's both a faithful and innovative interpretation of the franchise they adore," he concluded.

"It's fascinating to set it on Earth. We must consider the planet's future in terms of the ecology, governance, and technology, as well as construct and design a future version of the world... Noah intends to accomplish so in a unique and innovative manner."

Alien began with Ridley Scott's renowned 1979 film, which revolved around a cargo-hauling space ship that was threatened by a murderous stowaway.

Scott attempted to resurrect the franchise in recent years with the films Prometheus (2012) and Alien: Covenant (2017), with mixed success.

The Alien and Blade Runner franchises are almost certainly set in the same universe. Not only do the Tyrell and Weyland Corporations share comparable technology and links, but the series' concepts regarding manufactured life go hand-in-hand.

Due to their separation in space and time, their connection has never been openly confirmed.

The next Blade Runner series and the Alien series might also benefit from FX's series.

This would usher in a new small-screen universe that would collectively blast sci-fi lovers' heads.

With filming set to begin in 2023, the Alien series is unlikely to debut until late 2023 or early 2024. Hopefully, the huge surprises will make the wait worthwhile.
