Dr. Deepak Namjoshi, the musician's physician, cardiologist, and pulmonologist, informed the channel, "Bappi Lahiri died in the early hours of the morning.
His blood pressure was low and his pulse couldn't be felt when he was taken to the hospital by his relatives.
We tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate him, but it was too late."
In April of last year, the renowned singer was taken to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital after testing positive for Covid. After a few days, he was fully recovered.
Bappi Lahiri was last seen on Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 15, where he was there to promote his grandson Swastik's new song, Baccha Party.
Lahiri, who was born into a Bengali Brahmin family in Jalpaiguri and is the son of Bengali vocalists Aparesh and Bansuri Lahiri, made his film debut in 1973 with the music score for the film 'Nanha Shikari.'
Apart from scoring Hindi films, the music legend also scored huge box office hits in Bengali films such as 'Amar Sangee,' 'Asha O Bhalobasha,' 'Aamar Tumi,' 'Amar Prem,' 'Priya,' and others.
